About me

I grew up in Washington State, Guam and Hawaii, and I've lived in the Philippines for the last three years. Moving between places like that put me among very different communities early, and it shaped how I think about building for people: the thing has to work for whoever shows up, not only for people like me.

Working with my hands

My first jobs, from 2005 to 2013, were in restaurants, with moving companies and in light construction. Along the way I went through the Washington Youth Challenge Academy and took Automotive Technology and Public Safety courses at West Sound Technical Center (both 2009). In 2011 I earned my GED from Spokane Community College and completed a carpentry pre-apprenticeship at Curlew Job Corps.

From 2016 to 2023 I was an installation technician at Kitsap Garage Door. On a typical day that meant two doors and two opener motors installed, plus service and maintenance on both. Seven years of hands-on installation work.

Six months of stillness

In 2014 I stepped away from work. I spent six months of that break in intensive meditation, and the rest of it, through 2016, in self-directed study. The meditation gave me a simple way of making decisions. Fear is information, not a verdict. The useful question is never "should I be afraid?" but "what is one clear next step?"

The book

In November 2025 I wrote that framework down in a short, self-published book, Mirror Path Philosophy: The Formula to Inconsistency. It is a short anti-self-help book. "Inconsistency" is its name for the problem the framework solves.

Building

Since 2023 I've worked remotely as a social media virtual assistant. When I wanted that work to run more smoothly, I built an app for it, Mirror Path Social. My first build was MirrorPathRPG, a full personal-development app, and it taught me what not to do. Every build since runs on one repeatable system, and ButlerBuilds, my one-person studio, now has seven live apps and six websites, counting the studio site itself.

I don't have a degree, so I let the work speak. You can see how I build, read my resume, or get in touch.

My resume site went live today. It is built as an installable web app, and every claim on it points at something you can open and check.
